Two Weeks To Go!

Hey Everyone! :)

So, two weeks to go till Christmas! :P I, for one, am very excited, though I may be slightly outstripped in the excitement stakes by my mother. She is like a 4 year old! Haha it makes it so much fun having her bouncing on the balls of her feet as we choose tinsel colours!

But anyway! Tonight I was going to talk about a problem I'm sure many beauty addicts run into, To Buy Or Not To Buy. Yep, shudder you may! I think it's a world-wide problem that in the run up to Christmas, there is such torment every time you find a product you just NEED!

'You know what I'm talking about. Oh yes you do! That lipgloss? That shadow? AHA! Put it back!'

That's what the voice in your head says. And, grudgingly, we comply. So I need your help. E.L.F is having a free-shipping-plus-free-nail-polish offer until midnight Sunday, and I am very tempted by these products:

*Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Perfect Pink:

*Brightening Eye Colour in Luxe

*Mineral Lipstick in Runway Pink

*Mineral Lipstick in Pouty Petal

*Studio Eyebrow Kit in Ash

That's all, it comes to £13.50, which with no postage AND a free polish isn't bad, but I want your opinion on both the products if you've tried them, and on battling with the Before Christmas Guilt! Haha

Thanks muchly,

The Fear Of The Eggnog Latte

Hey! :D

First of all, I am going to dedicate tonight's blog post to my friend Katrine, as we came up with the title together! She coined the phrase, I asked for permission to use it! haha So, yeah. You'll also hear about Katrine next week as we're going to watch the Christmas lights being turned on! I'm so excited. OH! You'll want to know where The Fear Of The Eggnog Latte came from!! Oops! Well... we've been discussing the starbucks christmas drinks for a while now, and the only one we haven't tried is the Eggnog. We've looked up reviews online, we've thought about it, mulled it over, but when it comes down to it; we both think it sounds wierd! haha! So, have any of you tried it?? Let us know! :D

Anyway, as I mentioned, we're going to see the Christmas lights next week, which also marks the start of Late Night Shopping; the first of the Christmas music has been heard in shops and at work; Secret Santa has been chosen at School and Work; Christmas Shopping will start as soon as I get paid (of course :P )aaaaaand.... THE COCA-COLA ADVERT HAS BEEN SIGHTED!!!

It's official. I'm sorry. I cannot contain myself any more.
*bursts into song*

Christmas Blog: #1

Hello,
I decided that during November and December, I am going to blog once a week at least on the arrival of Christmas Cheer. I've waited until November as I think if I'd mentioned the words 'Christmas Cheer' any time before now, I think I might've been lynched! :P
So:
#1:

Well, we've had the Christmas Gifts out on the shelves at work for 3 weeks now and we had the first of the Christmas Music on at work last weekend, aaaand we also have the Christmas lights going on in town next Wednesday! Yup. The 17th! Haha, I'm really happy about it as I love all things Christmas, but apparently not everyone shares my views! ;) ;) (Bah humbug Tuesdays and all that :P )

There're also more and more adverts on TV with Christmassy themes or advertising Christmas presents, but we have yet to see and M&S or a Coca-Cola advert so it's ok, it's not really Christmas yet! :P

I was also given a copy of Marie-Claire by the librarian today, and it's really good! I was really impressed by the variation in it, but it did baffle me that it said on the front cover 'December 2010'. It's November people! It was giving Christmas party and Christmas dinner advice and everything! i know some people aren't all that fond of Christmas but please, for those who like it, don't rush the best time of year! :P

I think I'll leave it there tonight,
Ho,Ho,Ho ;)

The Products That Have Changed My Skin

Hello Blogworld!

As you saw in the title, I have found the products that I currently feel like I want to use FOREVER! I will be adding another product to this routine in the coming week that I have had a tester of, so I will let you know about that of course :)

But, for now, the products are:

Buche De Noel Fresh Cleanser by LUSH

So, what can I say? I LOVE this product!! It smells AMAZING! Like marzipan, but not as overpoweringly sweet, which is good! :) It has almonds in it (hence the marzipan) which are ground down and provide really gentle exfoliation; there's also brandy added to stimulate and tone your skin without being harsh and leaving you feeling tight; you've also got fresh mandarins and dried cranberries for gentle exfoliation, nutrient benefits and Christmassy smell.
That last point leads me on to the downside of this product: it's a limited edition Christmas product. What the heck?? I finally find my favourite cleanser/ exfoliator and it's limited edition! Needless to say, I will be stocking up.
I just love the way my skin feels baby soft after using this every morning, without feeling oily AT ALL! I just can't rave enough. Oh, and it's £5.50 for a huge pot of it which I have been using for 3 weeks and I'm not even half way through yet! Win-win.

Celestial Moisturiser by LUSH

Again, it was love al first try. :) this moisturiser contains natural vanilla absolute, cocoa butter, almond oil and almond milk which give it both it's yummy smell and soothing properties. It is great for sensitive skin, dry or combination skin, but I wouldn't recommend it for oily skin, simply because I think it would be too rich for you. However, it does sink into your skin really quickly and makes it feel immediately hydrated. I also find it gives my skin a gorgeous glow and makes a fabulous, smooth base for my makeup. It costs £10.25 for a pot, but so far, I'm finding I hardly need any to cover my face. I looked up reviews which claimed it lasted much longer than their normal moisturiser, but I will keep you updated on how long it does actually last for me.

Overall, this combination of products has worked wonders for my skin! I did a 4 day trial when I went on holiday of wearing no makeup (yes, me!) and using these morning and night and ALL my spots cleared up! My skin was completely smooth, no bumps, dry patches or spots! I was amazed. Unfortunately, come Monday morning, the slap came back and so have a couple of spots and bumps, but much less than before, so it's still a win, I think! I hope you enjoyed this post, see you soon in my October Favourites Video, hopefully going up tomorrow! :D

Mascara- A Practical But Fun One

I am a lazy, lazy girl. I'm sorry. I've been slacking TREMEMDOUSLY on YouTube and the BlogWorld. Oops :) Forgiven? Yes? Great!

Ok. Tonight, I am going to talk to you all about.....

Yep, Collection 2000 Collagen Curl Mascara. I have it in the shade Plum, and I adore it. The brush, as you can see, is curved, and is at exactly the right angle to fit around all my lashes at the same time, so it is SO easy to apply! I find it goes on really nicely and doesn't clump at all, even with multiple coats. It is really easy to use in a rush too, as a single coat givs just the right amount of definition to look 'done' enough that you don't HAVE to hang around and apply further coats.

The colour Plum works for me really well as I have bluey-green eyes, and it really makes them pop, without looking like a man purple colour. I also find that in the right lights, it makes my eyes appear different colours, so in natural light they might look green, then under fluorescents, they might look blue. It's really cool! Haha.

But, the best thing about this mascara, is that it's SUCH good value! £4.89 a tube in Boots, and about the same in Superdrug. Now, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't rank this quite up there with Diorshow, but it's definitely along side Clinique.

I hope this was a little bit interesting, hopefully expect another post on Thursday or Friday, and perhaps a suprise on Sunday.... :P

I am SO EXHAUSTED!!

Hello blogworld,

As the title of this post suggests, I am SO TIRED! Seriously. I have so much going on at the moment! You want to know what? You sure you have time? Ok.

1. School - I am taking 5 GCSEs this year, all of which I have missed a year of, so am having to work double time to catch up on.

2. Because of the gaps in my timetable (I took some GCSEs last year), if I have one or two lessons in the morning I go home for the rest of the day. Fine, right? However, I have to then trek BACK to school to either do a catch up after school lesson, maths review session or astronomy, which is after school and one of the GCSEs I'm taking.

3. I just got myself a Christmas temp job! Now I don't want you to think I'm moaning about this, I'm not, it's just another thing on top of my school work load. Cuz on the days when I only have morning lessons, I'm going to be working in the afternoons, then I'll be doing a few late night shopping, and weekends. So I really am happy to have this job, especially s it's at such an amazing company, but it is rather stressing me out remembering all the info we were told on the training days, as well as how to balance the Haber process.

4. My parents. Ugh. Seriously guys, do they REALLY think I don't care about my exams and that I want to fail in life? Oh well.

5. Sleeping. There is something so wrong with my sleep cycle at the moment! Why did I fall asleep in Chemistry this morning after getting more sleep than I have in a week?

So, yeah. I really don't want to sound moany, I just thought I'd update you on what's going on :)I posted a skincare routine video last night, and I will be uploading a brush review video tonight hopefully! I've been trying to think of blog posts I can do, and I was thinking maybe a shopping experiences series? Because I ADORE all things Christmas, but I find it so interesting to watch as the hysteria builds, I mean, they're already closing roads in the Town Centre where I live to start putting up the Christmas lights! Yep, ok, decision made. A blog a week entitled The Christmas Experience :) I'll also try and do another blog a week about other things, maybe a new product I've found that I don't have time to film about, or just a rambly one like today.

Hope you got to the end, and if you did, I applaud you!

Lots of love,

Megs

Oops...

Hey Everyone!

I know, I know... 5 months. Oops! But I'm back now, and here is where everything is *hopefully* going to kick off!

As those of you who are subscribed to my rather dormant YouTube channel will know, I am going to be posting my first video.... NEXT FRIDAY!! Woop Woop! :D And for those of you who don't know me beyond YouTube, this is a BIG thing for me. I have been pestering my parents for over 2 years to let me make videos with me in; and finally I can! :D

So this was just an update to let you know about that, and about the fact that I will TRY and blog at least once a week. :D The posts will either be on me, stuff I haven't had time to make a video about, or cooking. :)

Oh, that was something I wanted to ask you! I watched Julie And Julia last week and it got me thinking: A Food Blog. What do you guys think? Would you be interested in reading another blog by me about cooking, or should I stick to the occasional food-related post on here? Food is important to me btw, not JUST because I love to eat, but also because I'm Coeliac and I would LOVE to think that maybe another Coeliac (besides you, Kayla, you're the one who teaches ME to do with us :P) read my recipes and thought 'ooh'. :)

But enough rambling, see you guys in 6 days :P

Slightly Subdued...

Hello,
as I said in the title... this post will be a little subdued. Sorry. Yeah, my boyfriend dumped me :(

Anyway, the reason for the post is to ask you if any of you have used products from these companies, and if so, what did you think? It's called Anatomicals and I found it on asos.com

I like the look of these, and they're actually now half price! £5 for 4... pretty good value and yummy sounding flavours...

This also looks good... not that I actually need it any more *sigh* It comes with breath spray, mints and minty lip balm.

This shampoo looks good for hot weather, and stimulates hair growth!

This shower gel also looks as if it would smell nice, it does look a bit expensive though, £5? I don't know, it seems expensive to me :L

There are more things but I won't go into that now! I like the look of this brand because it uses natural ingredients, no parabens, sulphates, DEA's or SLS's :) If you're interested, you can find the whole selection at:
http://www.asos.com/Beauty/A-To-Z-Of-Brands/Anatomicals/Cat/pgecategory.aspx?cid=1473#parentID=-1&pge=0&pgeSize=-1&sort=3

And don't forget to let me know of things you want me to review, if you've used these or suggestions of products I might like!

Thanks,
Megan

Mini Haul & Review

Hey everyone!

For this post, you need to thank my amazing friend Kayla! Hehe she sent me a package aaaaalllll the way from America! Lol I have found that I LOVE American makeup. End of. From 3 products! haha no, I do just ADORE these:

LashBlast Mascara
I cannot explain my love for this mascara! Goes on amazingly, the brush is pretty much comparable to DiorShow, yes, I mean it! It adds volume whilst also separating and lengthening lashes, doesn't feel hard when it's on and is so easy to remove! WHILST ALSO not running down my face whilst I cried my eyes out watching Dear John! :) L-O-V-E!

Almay Intense i-Colour Eyeliner, Brown Topaz
This goes on almost as smoothly as the Urban Decay Eyeliners, is SUCH a gorgeous golden brown with reflective pigments and just intensifies my eyes and adds just the right amount of... glamour? I can't find the right word! But it is just an amazing eyeliner and makes my eyes more noticeable, definitely! :)

Almay Intense i-Colour Light Interplay Technology Eyeliner, Royal Slate
This goes on like a dream, does make my eyes look bluer, has a lovely soft smudger and doesn't look too harsh a colour against my light skin and blonde hair. I also just love how many different ways you can wear it!

Right. Now onto a product/ company review :) After my last post, I got a comment on twitter saying that my post was good, but it might be nice if I incorporated some small companies into my blog... so that's what I'm doing! :D I am going to do a review of Pink Cow Bath and Shower Gels. I did find these in boots, but they are hidden away right at the end of the aisle and at the bottom, which I think is wrong!! I place these above Soap and Glory, above Imperial Leather... pretty much all the big brands! My favourite out of the four available at my boots (Coconut Creme, Vanilla Biscuit, Strawberry Sundae, Lemon Cheesecake) is Vanilla Biscuit. I just love it's buttery, vanillary, warm, comforting scent! I think it would be suitable for all seasons and times of day as it can relax you, chill you out for the day ahead and is such a light scent and consistency that it will not smother you in the summer :) I also love Strawberry Sundae for it's fruity, almost sherberty scent! It smells like straberries and sugar, with a hint of cream (very Wimbledon!). I am not the HUGEST fan of coconut, so Coconut Creme is not an immediate love, but it is subtle enough to tempt even me to jump in the shower! Last but not least, Lemon Cheesecake! A lovely, zingy scent... but not as natural-smelling as I would have liked. I would still use it, but I feel I wouldn't enjoy it quite as much as LUSH's Bohemian Soap for example. I also do think that Coconut Creme and Lemon Cheesecake would probably be the most guy-friendly fragrances out of them all :)

Another great thing about this company is that their fragrances are allergen free, all their products are paraben free and their bottles are 100% recyclable! They also have lovely cheery messages on each of their bottles and.... are SUCH good value! £2.99 for a 500ml bottle and at the moment they are £2 each in boots!! Each of my bottles has lasted me a good 3 months with every day use, and at least 6 when switching between them! So as you can see I have used them for a while! Haha they are also really quite moisturising for a shower gel, and leave even my dry sensitive skin un-irritated and feeling soft! I like to alternate between using them with a shower lily one day, and just my hands the next :) Overall, 4.8/5 stars! :D (The 0.2 lost from the synthetic lemon smell).

Whoops, apologies for the really long post, and if you made it this far, CONGRATULATIONS and thank you! :D

Scents on guys :)

Hey! :D

Ok, I know I promised you this like 2 days ago, but I am SO busy at the moment! I'm revising for GCSE's... yeah, it sucks! haha but I get to go the cinema tonight to see Dear John, so I'll let you all know what I think of that tomorow! :D

But today, I am going to continue my last post! Today is scents that girls like on guys :)

First of all, a lot of girls I talked to like Lynx Click. On Boots.com it shows that they do a shower gel and a bodyspray/ deodorant, and they really aren't expensive! :D so, I'd reccomend those (I like the smell too!) :D They're on buy-one-get-one free at the mo, so make the most of it!

Next, I really like Armani Code for Men, same as one of my friends :) It smells... oh I'm awful at describing scents but it smells really good! :P Kinda musky but rich and a little earthy with a freshness... uh sorry, I probably just mashed it completely! On the website it says that it 'combines a citron cocktail of bergamot and lemon with soft notes of olive tree blossom, warmed with Guaiac wood and Tonka Bean.'

Another scent that a lot of people have mentioned to me is Calvin Klein Euphoria for Men.

Lastly, a couple of people mentioned Ralph Lauren Polo Blue. Personally, this is a bit strong for my liking, but it is nice and fresh, with a tiny bit of spice after it's been on the skin for a while (I had a guy tester by the way!). I think this is definitely a summer scent, as it's not rich enough for winter, but it is an ok scent.

Right, that's the most popular scents that came up in my survey thing, although pretty much all the Lynx ones were mentiones at least once, except Twist for some reason... maybe women don't like change! haha But anyway, I think overall scent really is a personal thing, and it does depend on the person's skin chemistry as to how the fragrance will react on them :) I hope both women and men found these two posts helpful, and I hope you continue to enjoy my blog! :D

Request :-)

Hey Everyone!
After my post last night, I got a tweet from @Marcdixon requesting for me to do a post more accessable to guys! So, because of that, I did realise that my posts had all been very girly, so in future I will try and include more 'manly' things! Haha so thank you for the request, keep them coming, and here we go! :)

Right, my first idea to iclude both guys and girls is based around scents/ perfumes. Now don't go all 'that's not manly' on me, because guys DO wear scents, and the way I'm going to do this does include them! I'm going to talk today about scents that guys like girls to wear, and I was prompted to think of this when putting on perfume this morning, because at the weekend, my boyfriend and I went to town and we went into Boots to look at scents. He picked out a bodyspray for me and actually said 'this is an attractive scent. A lot of girls wear really unattractive scents that put guys off', basically hinting, not so subtly, that he didn't like my perfume! So I bought the one he liked and now wear it. It's ok, but I prefer my original one! haha! So yeah, that got me thinking, what scents DO guys find attractive on girls, and what do girls find attractive on guys? Which is what this post is about :)

I've done a little research and I've found these that guys like:

* HedKandi Body Spray- Twisted Disco

*Burberry Brit For Women -I'm told it's because it has vanilla in it, it is a VERY attractive scent for women to wear. Apparently, vanilla is the scent of love. :P

*Any perfume with cinnamon in it, such as Arran Aromatics Soft Cinnamon

*Lastly, anything fruity. 'Light fruity scent' was said to me many many times when I asked people. I suggest something like:

* Marc Jacobs Daisy - combines fruit with light floral notes

*Ricci Ricci byt Nina Ricci

*Miss Dior Cherie - If you've ever smelt Clean On Me shower gel by Soap And Glory, this is very similar!

So, I hope you enjoyed this, leave me comments about what perfume you like on a girl/ you like to wear and also let me know what fragrances you like on a guy or what you like to wear guys. That's what my next post will be, probably tomorow. Thanks everyone! Love Megan

Review on My Skin products =)

Hello!
Sorry I didn't do a post yesterday, I was really busy catching up on schoolwork :( Not so fun!
Anyway, today I'm going to review the My Skin products I've been using :)

First of all, the facewash (My Skin Rise And Glow Daily Face Wash). At first, I wasn't sure about this. It doesn't foam and it is very moisturising, which almost felt like oil compared to the wash I was using before! However, I now REALLY like this! It takes all your makeup off (apart from eye makeup as you should avoid your eyes), it cleanses your pores, it is really gentle and so moisturising! When you use all the products together, your skin is so smooth and soft and your makeup looks SO much better, I find! :D I really do feel that this is a good face wash, especially as it didn't irritate or dry out my sensitive skin! Oh, and it smells REALLY good! They all have natural extracts and vitamins and no parabens! Definitely reccomend this, even for oily skin, because it doesn't leave oil on your skin :)

Now on to the exfoliator, Skin Bright Exfoliating Face Scrub.
Again, I love this product! :D I found the beads a little rougher than I was used to at first, But I have now used it 3 times, and as long as you are gentle with it, I find it smooths much better than any I've used before, and you need so little of it! it has honey, ginger and passion fruit in it so smells amazing and is so good for your skin! I use the face wash, then this, pat my skin dry and moisturise. I just cannot say enough times how much I adore these products, and at £2.19 each, you really can't go wrong! :D

Ok, moisturiser! No Shine Mattifying Moisture Lotion.
Uh... yeah I love this too! Haha one thing I especially like about this is the fact that you use it morning and night, which really simplifies the routine! It IS mattifying, but doesn't make your skin look dull, it has brightening extracts in too :) It softens your skin and is a brilliant base for makeup. I like to apply this while my skin is still damp after washing, bacuse it locks in more moisture. This moisturiser is oil free, sinks in really quickly and gets rid of any dry patches within a couple of uses :)I think mainly because they're all the same brand, they just pair so well and compliment each other :)

Lastly, the eye make up remover. Not-A-Trace Gentle Eye Make Up Remover.
I really like this product too. It's a lovely-smelling liquid that you put onto a cotton pad and wipe over closed eyelids to dissolve makeup. The only bad thing I can say about it is that it burns so much if you get it in your eyes!! Haha but I think that happens with all products really! :) I really fell in love with this when I realised that it even removed the eyeliner I'd never been able to completely remove!

So, yes. I think that is probably a 10/10 for all the products! :D I hope you found this helpful, and if you have any more questions, please leave a comment and I'll get back to you! :D Or, tweet me! @LolaZoe14 thanks, love you all! :D xxxxx

LUSH Haul!

Hello!
Sorry I haven't done any posts this week, I went on holiday and couldn't get internet :L I felt so lost! haha
Anyway, today I finally got to go to the big shopping centre and I got some LUSH stuff! :D Not a lot, cuz the main haul was clothes, but what I did get, I haven't tried before :-) I got:

*Space Girl Bath Ballistic- £1.85

*Think Pink Bath Ballistic- £2.30

*Honey Trap Lip Balm - £4.75

*A Sample Size Of Charity Pot Hand Cream - £1
The Full Size Is Pictured Below And Costs £12.50

So! That's all the LUSH goodies, not much this time! Next time I go I think I'm going to get Honey Bun Bath Ballistic, Ickle Baby Bot Bath Ballistic, The Comforter Bubble Bar, Sweetie Pir Shower Jelly, The Godmother Soap and Bohemian Soap! :D

Oh, and the clothes I got were all from Primark (they have much better ethics now and even do Organic Cotton which my T-Shirt that I got is made from!), except for the underwear I got, but I'm sure you all don't want to hear about that! Haha!

So, leave me any requests for reviews, suggestions of products I should buy etc and I'll see you soon! :D

Megs xxxxxx

P.S I got a sample of the Maybelline 24hr foundation and I am now VERY undecided between that and PhotoReady as I really like the Maybelline! AAH! :L

Sunday 11 April 2010

Haul... or not :-L

Hey everyone :)
So... I know I promised you a big haul, but unfortunately:
a) My friend cancelled going to the big shopping centre, so we ended up going round a tiny centre
b) we went with loads of people and I didn't feel I could spend time deciding on what to get
c) I just could not decide what I wanted! partly because of the pressure and partly because it was just one of those days
So yeah. I'm a bit bummed about that :L

Buuuuut.... I did get some denim shorts and the cutest white floaty babydoll top with lace around the top and lace straps :-) And it was only £18 for both! :D £15 for the shorts and the top was only £3 in the sale! :D Both were from H & M too so I was very happy about that :)

Lastly, I'd like to ask you which foundation you would recomend for me to get :) Thanks! Either:

*Revlon Photoready - £9.99, or £7.99 with my voucher

*Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation - £7.99

*Maybelline SuperStay 24hr Foundation -£6.99

So, thanks :-)

Have a great day everyone! :D

Love you all :D

First Post :0)

Hey Everyone!
So, as you may or may not have seen in my profile thing, I am a pending youtube beauty guru, basically meaning that I have a couple of videos up, but not with my face in (as my parents won't let me do that at the moment) so I am not putting any more videos up until I can have me in them. Hopefully sometime this summer I will be able to do that :)

However, I would still really like to be a part of doing reviews, hauls etc so I am starting this blog! :-) The title (Beach-Blonde-Beauty) basically refers to the fact that I love the beach, am blonde (in both senses of the word! haha) and I am obsessed with beauty :-) Just to clear up any offense given unintentionally before it is... that made very little sense! Sorry! :P

Ok, so this post is also a small haul, in preparation for a possibly big haul this sunday! :D These things were actually bought from my local Tesco store, and they were all very cheap :-) I got:

MySkin Rise and Glow Daily Facial Wash- £2.19

MySkin Skin Bright Exfoliating Face Scrub- £2.19

MySkin No Shine Mattifying Moisture Lotion- £2.19
MySkin Not a Trace Eye Makeup Remover- £2.19
It's the bottle in the middle, I couldn't get a photo of it on it's own :-)
Collection 2000 Love Your Lips SPF 20 Lip Gloss in shade 1- Tender - £3.99

I haven't used any of the skincare products yet, so I will keep you updated on what I think, but they are all Paraben Free and made especially for teenage skin/ sensitive but troubled skin, which I love! :-) I also love the price, and the fact that the lotion is made to be used morning and night :D It's so handy!
I have used the lip gloss and I ADORE it!! :D It's not sticky, moisturising and has anti-oxidants. It has mangoes and rose hips in too so smells AMAZING... and... IT COMES WITH A BRUSH!!! How amazing is that for something that costs £3.99! When I go shopping again this weekend I am definitely buying it in more colours!! haha

Ok, I think that's enough for this post! See you soon, love people, go where your heart takes you and I will keep you updated! <3
