Two Weeks To Go!

Hey Everyone! :)

So, two weeks to go till Christmas! :P I, for one, am very excited, though I may be slightly outstripped in the excitement stakes by my mother. She is like a 4 year old! Haha it makes it so much fun having her bouncing on the balls of her feet as we choose tinsel colours!

But anyway! Tonight I was going to talk about a problem I'm sure many beauty addicts run into, To Buy Or Not To Buy. Yep, shudder you may! I think it's a world-wide problem that in the run up to Christmas, there is such torment every time you find a product you just NEED!

'You know what I'm talking about. Oh yes you do! That lipgloss? That shadow? AHA! Put it back!'

That's what the voice in your head says. And, grudgingly, we comply. So I need your help. E.L.F is having a free-shipping-plus-free-nail-polish offer until midnight Sunday, and I am very tempted by these products:

*Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Perfect Pink:

*Brightening Eye Colour in Luxe

*Mineral Lipstick in Runway Pink

*Mineral Lipstick in Pouty Petal

*Studio Eyebrow Kit in Ash

That's all, it comes to £13.50, which with no postage AND a free polish isn't bad, but I want your opinion on both the products if you've tried them, and on battling with the Before Christmas Guilt! Haha

Thanks muchly,

The Fear Of The Eggnog Latte

Hey! :D

First of all, I am going to dedicate tonight's blog post to my friend Katrine, as we came up with the title together! She coined the phrase, I asked for permission to use it! haha So, yeah. You'll also hear about Katrine next week as we're going to watch the Christmas lights being turned on! I'm so excited. OH! You'll want to know where The Fear Of The Eggnog Latte came from!! Oops! Well... we've been discussing the starbucks christmas drinks for a while now, and the only one we haven't tried is the Eggnog. We've looked up reviews online, we've thought about it, mulled it over, but when it comes down to it; we both think it sounds wierd! haha! So, have any of you tried it?? Let us know! :D

Anyway, as I mentioned, we're going to see the Christmas lights next week, which also marks the start of Late Night Shopping; the first of the Christmas music has been heard in shops and at work; Secret Santa has been chosen at School and Work; Christmas Shopping will start as soon as I get paid (of course :P )aaaaaand.... THE COCA-COLA ADVERT HAS BEEN SIGHTED!!!

It's official. I'm sorry. I cannot contain myself any more.
*bursts into song*

Christmas Blog: #1

Hello,
I decided that during November and December, I am going to blog once a week at least on the arrival of Christmas Cheer. I've waited until November as I think if I'd mentioned the words 'Christmas Cheer' any time before now, I think I might've been lynched! :P
So:
#1:

Well, we've had the Christmas Gifts out on the shelves at work for 3 weeks now and we had the first of the Christmas Music on at work last weekend, aaaand we also have the Christmas lights going on in town next Wednesday! Yup. The 17th! Haha, I'm really happy about it as I love all things Christmas, but apparently not everyone shares my views! ;) ;) (Bah humbug Tuesdays and all that :P )

There're also more and more adverts on TV with Christmassy themes or advertising Christmas presents, but we have yet to see and M&S or a Coca-Cola advert so it's ok, it's not really Christmas yet! :P

I was also given a copy of Marie-Claire by the librarian today, and it's really good! I was really impressed by the variation in it, but it did baffle me that it said on the front cover 'December 2010'. It's November people! It was giving Christmas party and Christmas dinner advice and everything! i know some people aren't all that fond of Christmas but please, for those who like it, don't rush the best time of year! :P

I think I'll leave it there tonight,
Ho,Ho,Ho ;)

The Products That Have Changed My Skin

Hello Blogworld!

As you saw in the title, I have found the products that I currently feel like I want to use FOREVER! I will be adding another product to this routine in the coming week that I have had a tester of, so I will let you know about that of course :)

But, for now, the products are:

Buche De Noel Fresh Cleanser by LUSH

So, what can I say? I LOVE this product!! It smells AMAZING! Like marzipan, but not as overpoweringly sweet, which is good! :) It has almonds in it (hence the marzipan) which are ground down and provide really gentle exfoliation; there's also brandy added to stimulate and tone your skin without being harsh and leaving you feeling tight; you've also got fresh mandarins and dried cranberries for gentle exfoliation, nutrient benefits and Christmassy smell.
That last point leads me on to the downside of this product: it's a limited edition Christmas product. What the heck?? I finally find my favourite cleanser/ exfoliator and it's limited edition! Needless to say, I will be stocking up.
I just love the way my skin feels baby soft after using this every morning, without feeling oily AT ALL! I just can't rave enough. Oh, and it's £5.50 for a huge pot of it which I have been using for 3 weeks and I'm not even half way through yet! Win-win.

Celestial Moisturiser by LUSH

Again, it was love al first try. :) this moisturiser contains natural vanilla absolute, cocoa butter, almond oil and almond milk which give it both it's yummy smell and soothing properties. It is great for sensitive skin, dry or combination skin, but I wouldn't recommend it for oily skin, simply because I think it would be too rich for you. However, it does sink into your skin really quickly and makes it feel immediately hydrated. I also find it gives my skin a gorgeous glow and makes a fabulous, smooth base for my makeup. It costs £10.25 for a pot, but so far, I'm finding I hardly need any to cover my face. I looked up reviews which claimed it lasted much longer than their normal moisturiser, but I will keep you updated on how long it does actually last for me.

Overall, this combination of products has worked wonders for my skin! I did a 4 day trial when I went on holiday of wearing no makeup (yes, me!) and using these morning and night and ALL my spots cleared up! My skin was completely smooth, no bumps, dry patches or spots! I was amazed. Unfortunately, come Monday morning, the slap came back and so have a couple of spots and bumps, but much less than before, so it's still a win, I think! I hope you enjoyed this post, see you soon in my October Favourites Video, hopefully going up tomorrow! :D

Mascara- A Practical But Fun One

I am a lazy, lazy girl. I'm sorry. I've been slacking TREMEMDOUSLY on YouTube and the BlogWorld. Oops :) Forgiven? Yes? Great!

Ok. Tonight, I am going to talk to you all about.....

Yep, Collection 2000 Collagen Curl Mascara. I have it in the shade Plum, and I adore it. The brush, as you can see, is curved, and is at exactly the right angle to fit around all my lashes at the same time, so it is SO easy to apply! I find it goes on really nicely and doesn't clump at all, even with multiple coats. It is really easy to use in a rush too, as a single coat givs just the right amount of definition to look 'done' enough that you don't HAVE to hang around and apply further coats.

The colour Plum works for me really well as I have bluey-green eyes, and it really makes them pop, without looking like a man purple colour. I also find that in the right lights, it makes my eyes appear different colours, so in natural light they might look green, then under fluorescents, they might look blue. It's really cool! Haha.

But, the best thing about this mascara, is that it's SUCH good value! £4.89 a tube in Boots, and about the same in Superdrug. Now, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't rank this quite up there with Diorshow, but it's definitely along side Clinique.

I hope this was a little bit interesting, hopefully expect another post on Thursday or Friday, and perhaps a suprise on Sunday.... :P

I am SO EXHAUSTED!!

Hello blogworld,

As the title of this post suggests, I am SO TIRED! Seriously. I have so much going on at the moment! You want to know what? You sure you have time? Ok.

1. School - I am taking 5 GCSEs this year, all of which I have missed a year of, so am having to work double time to catch up on.

2. Because of the gaps in my timetable (I took some GCSEs last year), if I have one or two lessons in the morning I go home for the rest of the day. Fine, right? However, I have to then trek BACK to school to either do a catch up after school lesson, maths review session or astronomy, which is after school and one of the GCSEs I'm taking.

3. I just got myself a Christmas temp job! Now I don't want you to think I'm moaning about this, I'm not, it's just another thing on top of my school work load. Cuz on the days when I only have morning lessons, I'm going to be working in the afternoons, then I'll be doing a few late night shopping, and weekends. So I really am happy to have this job, especially s it's at such an amazing company, but it is rather stressing me out remembering all the info we were told on the training days, as well as how to balance the Haber process.

4. My parents. Ugh. Seriously guys, do they REALLY think I don't care about my exams and that I want to fail in life? Oh well.

5. Sleeping. There is something so wrong with my sleep cycle at the moment! Why did I fall asleep in Chemistry this morning after getting more sleep than I have in a week?

So, yeah. I really don't want to sound moany, I just thought I'd update you on what's going on :)I posted a skincare routine video last night, and I will be uploading a brush review video tonight hopefully! I've been trying to think of blog posts I can do, and I was thinking maybe a shopping experiences series? Because I ADORE all things Christmas, but I find it so interesting to watch as the hysteria builds, I mean, they're already closing roads in the Town Centre where I live to start putting up the Christmas lights! Yep, ok, decision made. A blog a week entitled The Christmas Experience :) I'll also try and do another blog a week about other things, maybe a new product I've found that I don't have time to film about, or just a rambly one like today.

Hope you got to the end, and if you did, I applaud you!

Lots of love,

Megs

Oops...

Hey Everyone!

I know, I know... 5 months. Oops! But I'm back now, and here is where everything is *hopefully* going to kick off!

As those of you who are subscribed to my rather dormant YouTube channel will know, I am going to be posting my first video.... NEXT FRIDAY!! Woop Woop! :D And for those of you who don't know me beyond YouTube, this is a BIG thing for me. I have been pestering my parents for over 2 years to let me make videos with me in; and finally I can! :D

So this was just an update to let you know about that, and about the fact that I will TRY and blog at least once a week. :D The posts will either be on me, stuff I haven't had time to make a video about, or cooking. :)

Oh, that was something I wanted to ask you! I watched Julie And Julia last week and it got me thinking: A Food Blog. What do you guys think? Would you be interested in reading another blog by me about cooking, or should I stick to the occasional food-related post on here? Food is important to me btw, not JUST because I love to eat, but also because I'm Coeliac and I would LOVE to think that maybe another Coeliac (besides you, Kayla, you're the one who teaches ME to do with us :P) read my recipes and thought 'ooh'. :)

But enough rambling, see you guys in 6 days :P
